Reserve Bank of India (RBI) online application for the recruitment of Officers in Grade B (General) DR, DEPR, and DSIM in Common Seniority Group (CSG) Streams for the year 2025. The RBI Grade B 2025 of phase 1 preliminary exam will be held in July 2025. RBI Grade B Officer 2025 Eligibility Criteria:
Candidates must meet the eligibility guidelines issued by RBI before applying online. The basic eligibility criteria pertaining to nationality, age limit and academic qualification of a candidate is discussed below:
I. Nationality: To appear for RBI Grade B Examination 2025, a candidate must be either: —
- a citizen of India, or
- a subject of Nepal or Bhutan, or
- a Tibetan refugee who is permanently settled in India prior to January 1, 1962, or
- a person of Indian origin who has migrated from either Pakistan, Burma, Sri Lanka, Kenya, Uganda, Tanzania, Zambia, Malawi, Zaire, Ethiopia, or Vietnam with the intention of residing permanently in India.
Please note that candidates belonging to categories (b), (c), and (d) should possess a certificate of eligibility issued by the Government of India.
II. Age:
- The minimum age limit for candidates to apply is 21 years while the upper age limit is 30 years on the 1st of September 2025 i.e., he/she must have been born not earlier than 2nd September 1989 and not later than 1st September 1998. For candidates with M.Phil. and Ph.D. qualifications, the upper age limit will be 32 and 34 years respectively.
- Candidates falling under the reserved category are eligible for relaxation in the upper age limit as per Government of India norms.
III. Educational Qualifications: The educational qualifications as prescribed by the Board for the RBI Grade B Examination 2021:

2.M. Stat. from Indian Statistical Institute with a minimum of 55% marks in aggregate of all semesters/years OR
3.PG Diploma in Business Analytics (PGDBA) jointly offered by ISI Kolkata, IIT Kharagpur, and IIM Calcutta with at least 55% marks in aggregate of all semesters/years or equivalent grade.
Note: For SC/ST/PWD candidates, the minimum marks required in Master’s Degree as in items a, b, c, and d above is 50% in aggregate of all semesters/years or an equivalent grade. |
IV. Number of Attempts: If General Category candidates have already appeared 6-times for the Phase-I Exam of this post in the past, then they would be considered ineligible to apply. However, there is no such restriction in the case of candidates belonging to SC/ST/OBC/PWD if the posts are reserved for them

RBI Grade B Officer 2021 Pre – Exam Training:
The Pre Exam Training is conducted for the candidates who belong to SC/ST and Minority Communities. The main aim of the Pre Exam Training is to provide training facilities to improve the abilities and to enhance the capabilities of privileged candidates. The training is free of cost, but all the other expenses like traveling, accommodation, food, etc. must be paid for by the candidates themselves. Pre Exam Training for the rbi assistant exam is specially conducted for candidates who could not afford to take admission in private coaching institutes. During the training, candidates will get to know the exam pattern, expected questions, tips & techniques to solve the problems, how to manage time during the rbi assistant exam and how to prepare for the Exam. Training is conducted for five days just before the start of the Preliminary Exam. Candidates who wish to appear in Pre Exam Training must select the relevant option at the time
of Online Registration. The administrative body has all the rights to cancel the program anytime at any of the centers, depending upon the response and feasibility or add some more centers or make alternate arrangements.

RBI Grade B Salary And Perks, Allowances:
Apart from the RBI Grade B Salary, the RBI Grade B employees will enjoy various allowances, perks which are listed below:
1. Dearness Allowance: The RBI Grade B officers will receive DA of 113% of the basic salary.
2. HRA Allowance: The Reserve Bank of India will offer 2BHK/3BHK flat to the RBI Grade B employees. If the employees are not allocated with flats, then they can claim up to Rs 70,000 as rent allowance.
3. Medical Allowance: Employees can claim medical allowances up to 4000 Rupees. These medical allowances are also valid for the dependents of the employees.
4. Education Allowances: Based on various parameters the officials will offer medical allowances to some of their employees. Those selected RBI Grade B officer can avail Rs. 4000/- under education allowance every month.
5. Fuel Allowance: If the RBI Grade B employee owns a vehicle in his/her name, then they can claim up to 150 liters of fuel per month.
6. Maid Allowance: For RBI Grade B employees, Rs 3000/- will be offered under the maid allowance.
7. Mobile Allowance: RBI Grade B employees can claim up to Rs 1500/- as mobile allowance.
8. Sodexo Coupons: RBI provides the employees with Sodexo coupons worth Rs 2000/- which can be spent on food/groceries.
9. Leave Fare Concession Travel (LFC): Once in two years the employees can avail LFC for self, spouse & dependents under LFC Travel allowance. The RBI will offer around 100000 for the employees under LFC allowance.
10. Briefcase allowance: The officers can avail Rs.7000 under briefcase allowance. Employees can reimburse the amount of briefcase every three years once.
11. Pectacles allowances: Spectacles allowance of Rs 7000/- can be claimed for either the RBI Grade B officer or the spouse of RBI Grade B officer.

- Successful applicants for RBI Grade B Examination 2021 are issued an e-Admission Letter two week prior to exam date.
- Candidates can download the admit card from the official website of bank.
- Candidates should check the e- Admission Letter carefully and bring discrepancies/errors, if any, to the notice of Board immediately.

RBI Grade B Officer 2020 Cut Off: Previous Year Cut Off
RBI Grade B 2019 Exam will be conducted in three phases:
- Phase-I exam
- Phase-II exam

The Most awaited RBI Grade-B 2020 Phase-1 exam is over. Now it’s time for exam analysis of RBI Grade-B 2020 Phase-1 (9th November 2020) shift I. A lot of students have appeared for their Phase 1 exam today and this brings them a step closer in their journey of getting a Job in the most prestigious Banking Platform.RBI Grade B Officers Phase I Exam was conducted today (August 16, 2019). There were 200 questions, which had to be answered in 120 minutes. There were four sections – General Awareness, English Language, Quantitative Aptitude and Reasoning. All the sections except English Language were available bilingually, that is, both in English and in Hindi. Each question had 5 options and 1 mark was awarded for every correct answer while 0.25 marks was deducted for every incorrect answer.

Section-wise analysis of RBI Grade B Officers Phase I Exam 2019:
General Awareness:
Most number of questions came from the current affairs – both national and international. It has to be noted that a number of questions totaling 21 came from banking. Other areas that were covered in this section were sports, business, science and technology, and books and authors. Very few questions, around 4 in number, came from the static portion of GK. It is also to be noted that maximum current affairs questions came from the events and happenings that occurred from May to July 2019. Rest of the questions from the dynamic section of GK came from the events and occurrences that took place in the last one year. Overall, the difficulty level of this section can be categorized as easy to moderate.

The section comprised 11 RC questions in total. There were two RC passages which had 4 and 7 questions in each passage. One RC passage was based on exchange rate and the second RC passage was on life events based. Most of the questions were inference based and so, took a long time to figure out the answer. Other topics that came in the exam included Sentence correction, Statement Connection, etc. No para jumble and cloze test questions came this time. Overall, the level of difficulty of the questions was moderate to difficult.

- To apply for the posts under this recruitment, As on 1st September 2021, a candidate must have attained the age of 21 years and he/she must not have attained the age of 30 years. A person must have been born earlier than 02nd September 1988 and not later than 01 September 1997 in which both the dates are inclusive.
- There is a relaxation of up to a maximum of five years in the upper age limit for the candidates belonging to the SC/ST Category.

In Bachelor’s degree as well as in 12th (or Diploma or equivalent) and in 10th Standard examinations, a minimum of 60% (50% in case of SC/ST/PWD) or an equivalent grade is required to apply for this post under this recruitment.
5. What is the educational eligibility criteria for posts of Officers in Gr B (DR) ( Economics and Policy Research Department, DEPR) under RBI Grade B Officer recruitment 2021?
A Master’s Degree in Economics / Econometrics / Quantitative Economics / Mathematical Economics / Integrated Economics Course/ Finance, with a minimum of 55% marks or an equivalent grade in aggregate of all semesters /years from a recognized Indian or Foreign University /Institute is required. For SC, ST and PWD candidates having a second class with a minimum of 50% marks or equivalent grade in aggregate of all semesters/years in Master’s Degree examination or equivalent recognized qualifications is required to apply for this post under this recruitment.
